Bulky Item Transport
Send the item, collection point and destination for an estimate. Get a Free Estimate
Bought a sofa, table, bed, wardrobe or other bulky item and need a practical way to get it home? Our Furniture Delivery & Collection service handles local collections from shops, warehouses, storage units and private sellers throughout Derbyshire and nearby areas.
Before booking, tell us exactly what the item is, its approximate size, where it is being collected from and where it needs to go. Access at both ends matters with large furniture, particularly when stairs, tight corners or narrow doorways are involved.

## Shop and private-sale collections Furniture does not always come with a suitable delivery option. You may have found the right piece in a local shop, purchased something second-hand or arranged a collection through a marketplace seller. A dedicated van collection can bridge that gap without needing to borrow a vehicle or work out how to move an oversized item yourself. We can collect suitable furniture from shops, sellers, storage facilities and other agreed locations. Make sure the seller knows somebody else will be collecting on your behalf and that the item will be ready at the arranged time. ## Measure before arranging transport One of the most useful things you can do is measure the furniture and the access route. A sofa that fits easily in a van still needs to pass through the final doorway. Wardrobes, dining tables and bed frames may need dismantling before transport depending on their construction and access. Measure doorways, stair widths and difficult turns where possible. If an item is unusually heavy, delicate or awkwardly shaped, mention that when you enquire so the handling requirements are clear. ## Collections between homes Furniture transport is not limited to purchases. We also help when items are being passed between family members, moved to a new rental property, taken into storage or transferred after a house move. This can be especially useful when only one or two bulky pieces remain after the main move. ## Coordinating collection times When a shop or seller provides a specific collection window, send that information with your enquiry. For private collections, it is worth confirming that the item is still available, the seller will be present and any dismantling agreed with them has been completed before the van arrives. ## Delivery to the destination At the destination, clear a route before delivery wherever possible. Moving small objects, rugs and other obstacles out of hallways gives larger pieces more room and helps avoid unnecessary handling. If the item is going upstairs, let us know in advance. For a straightforward estimate, send a description or dimensions of the item, collection and delivery areas, access details and your preferred date.
