Owner Darren Booth grew up around Derby and spent much of his early working life in practical delivery and transport roles. Over the years he became the person friends and relatives tended to call when somebody needed a sofa collecting, a student room moving or a van load taken across town. He noticed that many of those jobs were not large enough for a traditional removals operation but were still too awkward to deal with in a car.
Darren started Derbyshire Man & Van Delivery & Removals to fill that gap. The business began with local household moves and bulky furniture collections around Derby before expanding into trade deliveries, urgent courier work, equipment transport and suitable clearance jobs. Derbyshire remains at the centre of the company because Darren knows the area, its towns and the practical reality of moving goods between them.
Today Darren works alongside Leah Ward and Callum Briggs. They keep the business deliberately practical: understand the load before setting off, communicate clearly about access and timings and treat a one-item collection with the same care as a larger planned move.
